Magnum: Magnum is a photographic collective founded in 1947. Magnum photographers are a rarity and the agency is self-selecting, with a 4 year long process. The membership has evolved over the years to encompass the work of almost 100 diverse photographers. 

We have offices in New York, London, and Paris, and work with press, publishers, advertising, television, galleries and museums across the world. We have a traveling roster of over 100 exhibitions, education initiatives focused on the next generation of visual storytellers, an ecommerce platform, and an editorial platform telling stories across art, culture, news and photography to our audience of over 5.5 million.

About the role: We are looking for a graphic designer who understands the value of photography, can play an active role in campaign planning and drives impact by providing input on visual design. You will be responsible for the design of materials that bring our mission to life and consistently demonstrate our visual language. You’ll be brought into the fold throughout the process—from internal brainstorms and requirements gathering to feedback rounds and production support.

What you’ll do:

  • Create visually compelling marketing and branded collateral across all our channels; this includes education and cultural programming, printed materials, internal communications and digital assets (website, email, and social media channels)
  • Support the development of a consistent, engaging, creative-forward visual voice across all materials
  • Effectively communicate and articulate visual strategy and creative ideas across the organization and to project stakeholders, keeping team members informed of status and pertinent roadblocks while approaching challenges with solution-oriented thinking
  • Provide design feedback and guidance to ensure a cohesive experience across all touchpoints
  • Juggle multiple projects, stay organized, manage a large volume of files, keep your own workload on track, and reach out to key team members as needed to keep projects moving
  • Collaborate with our partner agency on the refresh of our brand guidelines and their application

Who you are:

  • You have a passion for art and photography with a solid understanding of digital tools and design trends, using data and insights to craft on-target creative to drive results
  • You approach projects and team members with a positive attitude while working in a fast-paced, international, entrepreneurial environment and culture
  • You have strong interpersonal and excellent communication (written and verbal) skills
  • You are based in London, Paris or New York

Minimum qualifications:

  • 2-4 years professional graphic design experience at an agency or in-house
  • Outstanding visual design skills in typography, composition, motion and systems design
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, AfterEffects)
  • Proficiency in Digital and Print mediums
  • Proficiency in Sketch, Keynote and Google Suite
  • Proficiency with remote-office communication including Slack

Preferred qualifications:

  • Familiar with responsive design and asset production for web
  • Proficiency in making editable HTML for Mailchimp, and knowledge using Figma
  • Bi-lingual, French and English is a plus
